Senior Marketing Manager

Based: Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand

Job Description

We’re after a kickass Senior Marketing Manager for the newest, most exciting and overall coolest film distribution company in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. We are looking for a creative thinker, who thrives on the big ideas and hates doing the same thing twice (unless it worked *really well*).

You’ll immediately watch a film, know who the audience is and how to find them. You’ll work super closely with the Sales, ensuring that the films that Ahi releases, get the best chance they can.

You always keep up with developments in the social and digital space and have a passion for grassroots marketing. We are an independent distribution company, so being nimble will be second nature to you, and the role is for someone who wants to get their hands dirty. Working closely with agencies, you’ll thrive in creative campaign ideas and inspire the team with your energy for it. You’ll need to have a sound knowledge of earned media and publicity, as you direct our team and agencies on these aspects.

We want someone who will flip the script when needed, in order to get eyeballs on screens; with the industry constantly changing, the traditional modes of marketing don’t cut it. Crucially, your communication skills will be on point, as you work closely with filmmakers and other important collaborators.

Ideally a background in film or entertainment, you’ll love what we are bringing to audiences. Ahi is across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand and will need someone who knows both countries in a marketing sense well, or has the ability to learn very fast. This role is starting at the beginning of an exciting new venture; a great opportunity for someone to really make the role, and strategy for the marketing at Ahi, their own.

Ahi is a wāhi haumaru space, we encourage te reo Māori and are looking forward to having you in a kaupapa Māori led organisation.
